Canberra are delighted to announce the signing of former Ainslie ruckman Josh Maynard for the 2019 NEAFL season.
The 22-year-old becomes the 9th new recruit this off-season, as the club continues to bolster its list heading into the 2019 NEAFL season.
General Manager of Football Shaun Young says he was excited to announce that Maynard had signed with the club.
"Josh had a terrific year at Ainslie in the AFL Canberra competition last year, where he featured in all but a few games and ultimately played in a premiership," said Young.
"For someone of his height he is extremely athletic, and will bring a competitive edge to our midfield."
Boasting an impressive highlight reel, Young believes that the Canberra faithful will be naturally drawn to the 196cm big man.
"It's very exciting to have Josh down at Footy Park (Phillip Oval) in 2019 and I'm sure all of our supporters will enjoy watching him play in Canberra colours next season."
"The NEAFL is obviously a step up from the AFL Canberra competition where he has been playing in recent seasons, but already we can see Josh is extremely ambitious and hard-working and will be a great addition to our program."
