The Canberra Demons have signed promising young players Harry Grant and Lachlan Squire for the remainder of the 2019 NEAFL season.

Grant, 17, is an example of Canberra’s commitment to nurturing young talent through to senior football, with the midfielder emerging from the GWS Academy program.
The Queanbeyan Tigers junior, has played 7 NEAFL games for GWS this season and is described as a midfielder capable of playing in and outside the contest, who can also impact the scoreboard.
Squire, 17, also a Queanbeyan Tigers junior, is a promising inside midfielder who prides himself on his tackle pressure and decision making, he has played 5 games for GWS in the NEAFL this season.

Canberra General Manager of Football Shaun Young, said that he expects the pair to play an important role as a part of a youthful core at the club moving forward.
“It’s really exciting for Canberra to have both Harry and Lachlan commit to our program for the rest of the year,” Young said.
“We think they have really bright futures at the football club and it’s a really important step for us long-term.
“Both Harry and Lachlan have already showcased trademarks of the Canberra program on and off the field and we think contracts for these boys were dually deserved. ”
