Canberra could be without Josh Maynard for the remainder of the 2019 NEAFL season, after the ruckman suffered an ankle syndesmosis injury in the first quarter of Saturday's loss to Sydney University in Blacktown.

The 23-year-old is still awaiting the result of scans before the club is able to provide an accurate timeframe for his return.
"It is an ankle syndesmosis injury, we are waiting on a medical report to shed more light on the precise nature of the problem and the way forward," General Manager of Football Shaun Young told canberrademons.com.au.
"But at this stage, we expect he will miss the remainder of the season."
