Canberra has reaffirmed its faith in injury-plagued defender Jonathan Spina, re-signing the 25-year-old until the end of the 2020 NEAFL season.
Spina had been due to come out of contract at the end of this year, but this week re-signed with the Demons' on a one-year contract.
The 193cm defender endured an injury interrupted debut campaign, limited to only 10 games in the NEAFL competition.
Despite his injury woes, Canberra's General Manager of Football Shaun Young told canberrademons.com.au he's confident Spina's best football was ahead of him.
“We are delighted Jonathan will remain at Canberra next season,” Young said.
“Despite an injury-plagued start, he has quickly become an important member of our club both on and off the field.
“He is a great young man and his attitude towards his training and rehabilitation has been impressive to watch.
"We are excited to see what he can achieve with us next season."
