A desire to repay the faith Canberra has shown in him and the chance to share in premiership success has led gun midfielder Mitch Maguire to re-signing with the club until the end of the 2020 NEAFL season.

The 21-year-old joined the club from the Northern Jets in RFL (Riverina Football League) and the GWS GIANTS Academy in 2017, playing 47 games since debuting against Redland.
In 2018, Maguire claimed the NEAFL's Rising Star award, a season that also saw him finish fourth in the league's most valuable player count.
This season, Maguire upheld his reputation as one of the NEAFL’s leading inside midfielders, named the Demons' Runner Up Best & Fairest after claiming the top honour last year.
Canberra’s General Manager of Football, Shaun Young said he was delighted to have Maguire recommit.
“Mitch is a great player, a brilliant young leader, and a popular member of the Canberra community,” he said.
“We see his signing as a significant commitment to our football program and a belief in the direction the club is heading both short and long term.”
