The Canberra Demons are excited to announce the contract extension of young star Guy Richardson until the end of the 2019 NEAFL season.
A member of both the AFL and GWS Giants Academy, Richardson narrowly missed out on draft selection in 2018, and despite an array of interstate offers for 2019 the 18-year-old insists Canberra is the best place to further his aspirations of playing at AFL level.
“The NEAFL is a competition capable of producing AFL talent so to continue my development here is something I’m really excited for," said Richardson.
"This club is a second home to me and the friends I’ve made at Canberra are like family, so I never had any intention to leave."
“The support the club has given me since I arrived has been exceptional and I want to repay the belief they’ve shown in me over the past two years."
"I'm very happy to be continuing my footballing journey with the club."
Having represented the Allies Squad and testing at the AFL National Draft Combine in 2018 the Ainslie Junior will look to cement a Demons midfield spot this season.
