Midfielder Reed Stevens is set to miss Canberra’s 2018 NEAFL season after scans confirmed the 18-year-old will require surgery on a torn anterosuperior labrum in his right shoulder.
The injury occurred early into the third term of the Demons’ intra club match at Allinsure Park in Queanbeyan earlier this month.
Stevens will undergo surgery this afternoon in the hope of returning to the NEAFL for the 2019 season.
“It’s not the most ideal situation but injuries are a part of the sport, I’ll put it behind me and set my mind on the rehabilitation program.”
“It’ll be a gruelling twelve months but I’m confident that my best football is still ahead of me,” said Stevens.
We wish Reed luck in his rehabilitation and looking forward to seeing him back in time for our 2019 campaign.
