Swan looks to build again | AFL Canberra

Canberra Vice-Captain Andrew Swan made a successful return from injury in the AFL Canberra competition last Saturday, and he firmly believes his season has plenty left in it yet.

Queanbeyan defeated Eastlake by 16-points at Allinsure Park on the weekend and Swan is now focused on improving his engine to push his case for senior selection.

“I knew (my knee) was ready to go, it’s the match-play and game sense that you lack,” Swan said.

"I just wanted to get through the game to get the monkey off the back.

"From here I'll focus on building the engine back up so I can run games out."

If Swan is to return to the NEAFL team this season, he is likely to do so as a forward.

"I will be playing more of a forward role if I return to play this season," he said.

"Hopefully I can find some game time before the end of the year and have a real impact on the side this season."

Swan is expecting to be a full contributor for Queanbeyan when they clash with the Belconnen Magpies on Sunday afternoon.
